STARVATION AND GAZA HUMANITARIAN FUND (GHF) USED AS GENOCIDAL WEAPONS: DEMAND GOVERNMENTS AIR-DROP AID ACROSS GAZA

Since May 2025, Israeli forces and US-backed contractors at GHF “aid” sites have killed 875+ Palestinians, including 70 killed in Khan Younis on June 18 2025 and 21 crushed or gassed on July 16. The UN confirms that one in three Gazans now goes days without food; all Palestinians in Gaza face starvation; and acute child malnutrition has tripled. GHF centres—barbed, militarized, and coordinated with Israeli forces—are engineered killing zones, not aid sites. These deaths and starvation fulfill elements of genocide and crimes against humanity, including wilful killing, inhumane acts, and starvation as a method of warfare. GHF must be dismantled and replaced with UN-led aid and in the interim emergency air-drops. Call, email, and pressure your governments to relaunch aid drops over Gaza immediately and to intervene to stop Israeli blockade of aid.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), imposed by Israel with U.S. backing, replaces the UN aid mechanism with a system of engineered starvation. According to WFP, one in three Gazans goes days without food, all Palestinians in Gaza face forced famine, and child malnutrition has tripled since the March 2025 blockade. GHF sites are not humanitarian—they are militarized collection points where civilians are corralled through narrow fenced corridors, denied safety, and often killed-arising to multiple international crimes: starvation as a method of warfare (Rome Statute Art. 8(2) (b)(xxv)), crimes against humanity (Art. 7), and genocide under Article II(b) of the Genocide Convention. GHF is a direct instrument of these crimes. Under erga omnes obligations, states must immediately suspend GHF operations, restore UN access, and prosecute all responsible parties.

URGENT CALL TO GOVERNMENTS: Stop the Siege, Air-Drop Aid, End Complicity in Genocide

We call on all governments to take immediate action to confront the accelerating genocide in Gaza. As Israel’s siege, starvation policy, and military attacks escalate, States must urgently intervene to fulfill their obligations under international law.

CALL UPON ALL STATES TO ACT NOW

1. The immediate launch of coordinated humanitarian air-drops across the entire Gaza Strip to deliver lifesaving food, water, and medical aid.

2. These air-drops must continue until UN-led aid distribution operations are fully reinstated and all border crossings are reopened for unimpeded humanitarian access.

3. Governments must take direct action to end Israel’s total blockade, restore multilateral UN humanitarian operations, and dismantle the GHF system, which has been used to corral starving civilians into sniper-controlled zones, resulting in over 875 aid-site killings and mass suffocation, trampling, and terror.

States that enable, fund, or remain silent in the face of these crimes are complicit under Article III of the Genocide Convention.

CALL UPON CIVIL SOCIETY 

We call on people everywhere to demand that their governments end all forms of complicity, immediately shut down GHF operations, reinstate the UN aid mechanism, and act now to save Palestinian lives. Silence is participation in genocide.
